West Sonoma County, California, stretches from the town of Petaluma, past Sebastopol, Graton, Forestville and Healdsburg, along the Pacific Coast through Bodega Bay, Jenner and Sea Ranch. We have vineyards, apple orchards, pot farms and backyard gardens. We are surfers, yogis, former city dwellers, ranchers, bohemians and cowboys.
I was born in San Francisco. I moved to eight different neighborhoods in the seductive City, before choosing Sebastopol. My kids hop a fence and race through fields to find their friends. The school bus stops at the end of my driveway. The property taxes still stun me annually. It’s difficult to find a reason to wear something besides jeans. I have the unexpected sense of being in the right spot at the right time. This place is my California and my inspiration.
